1. Choosing a Safe Destination

Let’s face it; you no longer have the luxury of making an exclusive choice of where you want to go for a couple’s trip. Unlike before, your destination choice will be influenced by the pandemic’s reigning travel restrictions. Therefore, your couple trip ideas have to go in line with what’s best for your safety.

Naturally, your couple trip safety will depend on where you’re going. That’s why you can’t just head to any destination without respecting the underlying pros and cons for your couple trip, as well as the provided travel restrictions. The good news is; every top destination has its recognized safe zones that are safe to welcome visitors. Besides, here are more ways you can approach your quest for a safe couple’s trip destination.

Look Out for Areas with any Travel Restrictions.

Before you plan for any luxury couple trip, find out if there are rules in the particular areas you will be traveling to. This is important as the rules can change rapidly and leave you locked up. You need to also find out about other restrictions, such as how far you can travel within the area.

The Quarantine Rules for Your Desired Couple Destination.

Quarantine and self-isolation are standard practices when it comes to traveling during this pandemic period. Some places have laid down protocols that require visitors to stay inside for two weeks upon arrival. You need to know this before setting out to avoid any inconveniences.

Check for the Infection Rate in the Area

Other than the travel restrictions, border passes, and quarantine rules, you should never disregard the importance of the infection rates in your preferred destination. This is among the golden rules for anyone traveling during a pandemic.

2. Checking Your Health Status

Personal health is everyone’s top priority during the coronavirus pandemic. The fact that you can have the virus without any knowledge means you should be sure of your health status before embarking on any journey.

As a couple, it is crucial to be tested and cleared for COVID-19 before leaving for any new destination. This is an essential step, lest you risk falling ill during the journey and deny yourselves a perfect couple time away. If any of you exhibits some of the common symptoms of covid-19, it would be better to get treated and avoid putting your partner’s health at risk.

3. Explore The Best Local Trip Ideas

During the pandemic, traveling remains one of the most sensitive areas where people need to stay safe. It’s believed virus transmission happens more when people are traveling without adherence to the set guidelines. For a couple who wants to enjoy their trip, ensuring safety during traveling is one of the critical things they need to pay attention to.

Regardless of the Covid 19 risk, there are still plenty of travel ideas for couples. You may not be able to go on that trip to your preferred destination due to the restrictions, but don’t let that limit your adventure.

There are many travel ideas for couples to explore, with minimal risks of catching or spreading coronavirus. Here are some of the ideas you might want to consider if you’re longing for some fun-filled adventure while on your couple trip.

Taking A Road Trip

While most parts of the world are still unlocking and accepting visitors, traveling by air to another country seems like a distant dream. Though some places have already lifted restrictions against air travel, taking a couple’s road trip would perhaps be the best thing to do. As a fresh couple in need of trip advice, a road trip to the safe zones within your country will grant you the desired relief from the lockdown.

A road trip is an adventurous form of enjoying a couple trip during the pandemic especially when you are fresh from lockdown, and it’s considered safe because you possess more control in your personal space. It’s also an ideal budget-friendly couple’s trip, thanks to the relatively lower costs involved. However, you’ll still need to adhere to these precautions that control the virus spread.

Go for Some Camping

Opting for a couple’s camping trip can be a revitalizing experience that will get you closer to nature and out of your home’s boredom. It’s one of the top ideas for a couple’s weekend trip that will provide a perfect gateway from the confines of your home, granting you the much-needed outdoor experience.

You only need tents and foodstuffs to help you take full advantage of your couple camping. You can also engage in many other activities while on your couple camping trip, such as a couple climbing trip adventure, among others. Nonetheless, if quality one-on-one time and social isolation are your preference during this pandemic, a camping trip could be your perfect couple trip during the pandemic after all.

Take a Hiking Trip

Even with pandemic lockdowns, the roads may still experience crowds, leaving you with no enthusiasm for a road trip. This is where you need to consider a couple’s hiking trip and enjoy the best of your outdoor experience. Not only does hiking offer you a blissful escape from everything that’s going on, but it’s also one way of physically exercising your body during these tough lockdowns.

4. Avoid the Obvious Places

Many of the trip ideas for a married couple may involve going to their usual romantic spots to enjoy a taste of their love and share the best moments. However, some of these places are best avoided during these challenging times.

Some of the known top destinations for a couple’s trips may be closed, but this doesn’t mean every other place open for vacation is worth considering. For instance, you can make your couple trip enjoyable even by avoiding areas such as;

Beaches and Parks

The Covid 19 virus may be harder to transmit in outside spaces, including beaches, but it’s still safe to stay aware of the underlying risks. The fact is that these places quickly get crowded, putting all of you at significant risk of cross-infection. Therefore, it’s important to stay clear and take your trip to less crowded and places.

Avoid Pools and Other Swimming Spots

It may be tempting to go outdoors and enjoy a swim together as a couple, but they are not the safest places to go while on your couple trip during the pandemic.

Like beaches and parks, pools can also put you at the risk of contracting the virus because they are shared facilities.

5. Don’t Drop Your Guard On Any Safety Protocol.

After deciding where to go and how you’ll get there, examine how easy it will be to stay away from other people. You may feel safe taking a road trip as a couple or perhaps going for a hike, but you should also let the same safety rules during the coronavirus pandemic apply.

Regardless of where you are, don’t let your guard loose on maintaining the necessary safety measures. This should be the case even after examining your situation and taking all the extra cautions against contracting the virus. Some of the standard measures you should always uphold are;

  • Practicing social distancing whenever you come in close contact with other people
  • Washing your hands regularly, including every time you touch a surface.
  • Seeking out contactless payment options, if need be
  • Wearing your mask

Love the idea of taking a couple’s road trip especially if it is combined with camping and hiking. This is the perfect time to try glamping, or staying in a yurt. Both sound romantic and allow for lots of personal space and down time away from the TV!

Thank you for all the tips and aspects to keep in mind. It comes just at the right time – as we’ve been able to get our vaccines and are itching to travel – but also know that just because we’re vaccinated doesn’t mean the risk has completely disappeared.

What a brilliant list of ideas, too often we spend time focused on all the stuff that we cannot do during the pandemic when there’s just as equally a lot of creative ways to spend time together even when there are restrictions in place.

very wise indeed! we are going to travel to a foreign country for a vacation and use the beach but we picked a small hotel with a private beach for that. Honestly, I am a bit tired of being all ‘local’ for over a year now.

These are all very important things to consider when traveling during the pandemic. Right now in my country we’re still not allowed to travel interstate, and unfortunately there’s not much to see in my state other than big buildings and shopping malls. Really can’t wait for the restrictions to be lifted.

There is so much to see and thousands of many activities to do, without the need to fly overseas. This pandemic made us feel more connected to our local community and local tourism than ever.

Travelling in the pandemic and post-pandemic time should be done carefully. I totally agree with your trips for a perfect couple trip at this time. I think going to a less crowded area is a great option and for those who can hike, hiking and trekking is a good way to connect to nature. My partner and I have done a couple of road trips around the weekend this year after taking precautions. We had to be on our guard most of the time, but the trip was as usual wonderful.

I feel travelling to lesser crowded places is a good idea. And most of all, keep out of social media. That way, you don’t harm the place and yourself. Also, taking some precautionary medicines and masks is important. Generally, be safe and keep a safe distance and enjoy your holiday without much noise.

We have been stuck at home for most of the pandemic but we have been happy to take one or two short couple trips when it was safe enough to travel locally. We always booked at last minute because the Covid rules seemed to change weekly. We loved local road trip where we could get outside and hiking close by always was something we looked for in destinations. It was always important fo run not to drop our guard. We were extra safe but we could not always count on others. But the trip away was worth the extra effort.
