Our Premium and Multiple Contributors
Shelby Kisgen is an experienced camper and hiker from Wyoming, USA. She is a true nature enthusiast who enjoys sharing her experiences through freelance writing and her blog: naturepreserve.me.
When she is not enjoying the great outdoors she is dueling her husband in tennis, eating, or reading a book. Shelby was the first of many to write articles for the Camping for Women website. She just loves to combine her love of the outdoors with her passion for writing.
Janessa Tice Miller lives in a 17ft Casita Travel Trailer with her husband as they travel full time across North America. She loves making her home in beautiful places and exploring nature from a canoe or trail. When at camp or on the road, Janessa spends her time reading, writing, and completing college courses online. Follow her travels at www.unboundnomads.com and on Instagram.
Stephanie McHugh went on camping vacations every summer when she was growing up in Southeast Texas. The camping bug stuck. Her own family camps each year, and hiking is enjoyed year-round. The Texas Hill Country on the Frio River is one of many favorite destinations. Stephanie is already living the dream of writing for a living, as her newspaper-editor lover-of-camping dad did. The next dream is to live closer to scenic, hilly hiking trails. She currently lives in the flatlands of Houston, Texas.
Born right around sea level in the Midwestern United States, Kristina Eaton heard the call of the wild at a young age. She grew up climbing trees barefoot during the summers and reading every adventure book she could get her hands on during the harsh winters. After graduating from college with a degree in journalism and an itch to explore, Kristina bade farewell to her friends and family and moved west to beautiful Colorado. It didn’t take long for Kristina to bump right into her passion – getting immersed in nature.
Most weekends, you can find Kristina’s tent at the trailhead of one of Colorado’s “fourteeners” – or peaks over 14,000 feet (4267.2 meters). Once she’s hiked to the top of every fourteener in the state of Colorado, her next adventure will take her down the Pacific Crest Trail on a thru-hike that runs along the entire west coast of the United States.
Shazia Chiu is a freelance writer and a recent public relations graduate. As a Utah native, outdoor adventure and travel are central parts of her life. Shazia also loves to camp, whether that involves sleeping in a campervan on the edge of a lake, a tent in the middle of the desert, or a hammock high in the trees. Her other outdoor interests include rock climbing, horseback riding, canyoneering, whitewater rafting, and SCUBA diving.
Phoebe Hodina is a marketing consultant from Evansville, Indiana, USA and is an avid hiker, biker, swimmer, runner, yogi and snowshoe aficionado, you could say that she has a passion for outdoor activities. I will never say no to new adventures, and I’m happy to encourage other women to get out and try new things in the outdoors”.

Emily Pennington (also known as the Brazen Backpacker) is an adventurer, solo traveler, mountaineer, quote collector, and all around lover of things that get people out of their comfort zones. She lives in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Put on her first international flight at 3 months old, she’s been adventuring in one way or another ever since! From wandering the forests of Sweden alone at the age of nine, taking photos of faeries, to solo trekking in the Himalayas of India, to joining the circus as a professional aerialist, Emily is a big fan of the “just get out there and do it” mentality.
She considers it her mission in life to inspire others to go outside, travel, and get curious about everything. As John Muir aptly put it, “going out is really going in.”
