Excellent Sensory Experience with No Fuss
When I was asked to review products from Colorado Aromatics, including a knuckle balm, I hesitated. I can’t say that I diligently use beauty products but I only had to give my hands a quick glance to say sure. As a teacher in the midst of flu season with news of Covid-19 just emerging, my over-washed and sanitized hands were a mess and I was hoping for some relief.
Colorado Aromatics designs skincare products using herbs from their certified naturally grown farm to address the skincare needs caused by Colorado’s climate. They sent me the Knuckle Balm, Meadow Mist Face Cleaner, Razz Tightening Serum, and Springtide Gold Rejuvenating Face Cream to try out.
What is Special about Colorado Aromatics Products?
The products arrived wrapped in tissue paper with documents explaining the use and ingredients of each product. Dr. Cindy Jones, the founder of Colorado Aromatics, holds a PH.D. in biochemistry and is a self-taught herbalist. Besides her work formulating her own products, she does cosmetic microbiology and consults for other cosmetic companies. Her expertise and the care she puts into the formulation of her products is evident in the careful descriptions provided of each ingredient in the products.
How did they work?
Knuckle Balm
The Knuckle Balm, as anticipated, provided instant relief to my cracked cuticles and even a small cut from a cooking mishap. I thought back to how miserable my hands were while travelling through the high desert in Idaho and Oregon our last trip and wished I had it along with me then. I know the next time we are camping in an arid region I will want it along to provide relief to the inevitable cracked knuckles.
Facial Products
I enjoyed using the three face products daily. The Meadow Mist Face Cleanser provided a sensory experience that made me look forward to washing my face each day. The cleanser contains jojoba beads for exfoliation that feel rejuvenating on your face.
The sensory experience continues with the Razz Skin Tightening Serum, it made my skin instantly feel tighter within seconds of applying it. Since this is my first beauty product review I didn’t even consider taking a before and after picture but I definitely feel like the bags under my eyes have been reduced.
I appreciated the non-greasy feel of the Springtide Gold Face Cream, it quickly absorbed and left my skin ready for makeup within minutes. What I loved about all the products was the gentle and pleasant scent. It was mild and comforting.
Shampoo
I was nervous about agreeing to try the Angel Falls Conditioning Shampoo, I have very fine color-treated hair and often natural shampoos leave my hair limp and hard to manage. The shampoo contains conditioners and the information stated that many users don’t feel they need for conditioner on top of the shampoo. It is also color-safe since the beauty salons have been closed here, as in many places for a couple of months, I was relieved the shampoo did not strip what color was left in my hair. I first used the shampoo without conditioner as suggested and while my hair was clean and soft, I was not happy with the body. I used it again with my regular conditioner and had much better results. The results of the shampoo without conditioner were manageable and I would not hesitate to use the shampoo when I want to pack light while travelling.

Cons
- Packaged in plastic containers
Do I Recommend Them?
I really like the face products; they have a great feel and scent. The knuckle balm is a serious hand saver and I will continue to use it to address issues from the gym, outdoor work, and camping. I would be happy to use the shampoo when packing light but it won’t replace what I currently use just because of my super fine and finicky hair.
I appreciate that all the products are biodegradable and made with natural ingredients. I do wish they came in an alternative to plastic containers as I try to make choices that reduce the amount of plastic I use.
All of the products smelled amazing and kept my coming back to use them. Overall, I recommend the products for quality and the sensory experience they provide.
I am an adventurer at heart, always looking for the next opportunity to learn something new. I spend my winter days working with high school students to explore their interests and develop passions.
I spend my evenings and summers developing new hobbies and being outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy camping, hiking, cross country skiing, and biking.
All these products sound amazing. I would love to try the Meadow Mist Face Cleanser that sounds like a party in a bottle for my face.
I personally love using witch hazel as a toner before I moisturize and prior to bed using coconut oil or bio oil where it can really help lock in moisture while I’m sleeping and not tanking on water without making a horrible mess of my pillowcases unlike pure vitamin E (which I also love). For smaller pores, I find after cleansing that it’s helpful to run really cold water over it and then lay the cold, wet cloth over the face (much as you would apply a warm/hot cloth to open pores prior to a mask). If in the shower, just crank that nozzle to a cooler setting for the last few minutes of your shower for the added bonus of hair health (a trick passed on through generations of women in my family with or without a small amount of vinegar rinse) and circulatory stimulation.
The knuckle balm sounds like something that would come in handy for my husband who works in construction, I will have to check this company out!
Anything skincare is very important now. As well as looking after our health our skincare is just as important. I like these brand products. They are affordable too.
The Knuckle Balm looks fantastic! I’m a ginger so the any sun and I dry right up.
The knuckle balm sounds great, especially at the moment. We are all washing our hands so much at the moment that we definitely need a product like this!
I have never thought of caring my skin, especially when I have to move a lot with many things carrying. But anyway, thanks for sharing this! Now I know which skin care I should look for when needed
I need the knuckle balm! It sounds like the perfect thing right now with so much extra hand washing going on because of the Coronavirus. I had never heard of this company before, but I will be visiting their site. Thanks for teaching me about a great company. These skincare items you mentioned would also make great and very useful gifts for friends and family. I already have a couple in mind to pick up the knuckle balm for if it works for me.
I know this makes me sound like a diva, but skincare and makeup are still important to me when I hike and camp. I’d definitely try these all except the knuckle balm, my knuckles rarely ever get dry.
Ooohh a knuckle balm is what I really need too, though this is the first I’m hearing of a product like that! Would love to give it a try and hope it saves my overwashed hands too.
I like this line. I don’t use a lot of beauty products either but what I do use is natural! I’ve been looking for a brand that focuses on natural stuff! I def want to try the Razz Skin Tightening Serum! I haven’t seen a natural product out there that does ‘tightening’ action!
Nice products here for sure and it is a plus that they are all natural too x
I struggle with dry skin and will be buying this and also showing this to my wife and daughter. Thanks for a wonderful review and the pics are amazing. Great blog and keep up the awesome work.
I am definitely going to try the Knuckle Balm on my cracked hands. I wonder what the ingredient list is…
During the virus situation I started taking much more care of my skin so this post is very interesting to me. The products look very promising
These all look like great products. I love the fact that they are natural too! The knuckle balm would be great for after the gym.
I’d love to try the face products–I feel like all three of them would work well together. It’s so nice to see natural products with clear ingredient lists, instead of chemicals and words I’ve never heard of.
I have a huge problem with dry skin in the winter months because of the heat in the house being on and drying out the air. Some of these Colorado Aromatics products sound like they would be perfect especially the knuckle balm.
I never get discouraged about plastic packaging because I tend to recycle it. I would love to try this brand. I love everything that is organic and can help my skin.
I didn’t now there is such a thing as Knuckle Balm! I love the packaging. It looks organic yet very modern. I hope to try them really soon. It sounds like my best friend would need them too.
All-natural products are the best! I’d love to try their Meadow Mist Face Cleanser, it sounds perfect for my skin.
Thats a new brand for me. Seems Colorado Aromatics have a good array of products. I would like to try the balm and the face cream.
I have never heard of this but every description seemed to exude fresh. I really want to try the Meadow Mist Facial Cleanser.
I have never tried this before, but it looks like a great line of skincare products. This is something that I would use regularly.
These seem extremely helpful products for face, hair and body. And I would need the Knuckle Balm immediately. I would love to use the shampoo too as it is natural and would not need to use a conditioner separately. The packaging looks attractive. The only drawback that I see is the plastic containers.
I have not tried the products but I sure would love to.
I really like their packaging 🙂
I love how you have listed the pros and the cons and been so honest. They look fab, but just wish the packaging was not plastic x
Oh, nice one! my hands get mega sore after doing loads of DIY so will try that balm.
Looks like a great list of products. I would love to try all of them – especially any of the facial products.
These look like some great skincare products. that knuckle balm sounds like something my hubby uses for work.
These look like amazing products! I would love to try that conditioning shampoo!
I love that these products are all-natural. Of course, it would be better if they weren’t packaged in plastic, but that’s still pretty good!
The knuckle balm sounds perfect for me! My cuticle area and my knuckles get extra dry and cracked. I have to try that!
