When it comes to clothing, I want pieces that fit well, are comfortable, and can keep up with my lifestyle. Sustainability is important to me too, so I’m always looking for quality clothing that will last rather than something I’ll replace in a season. One challenge I run into is finding clothes that work in a variety of situations. When I’m traveling or camping, I often go straight from a hiking trail to a museum, coffee shop, or restaurant. I don’t want to pack separate outfits for every activity or change mid-day, so I appreciate clothing that feels at home outdoors but still looks put- together enough for everyday life.
When Title Nine reached out and offered me the opportunity to try some of their clothing, I was excited to see if their pieces would work for me. Their focus on active women and functional, versatile clothing is what I look for in my wardrobe. After spending time wearing, washing, and traveling with these items, here are my thoughts on both the company and the clothing I selected.
Title Nine
Founded in 1989, Title Nine is a Northern California-based women’s athletic clothing company that has remained independently owned and operated since its founding. The company drew inspiration from Title IX, the 1972 U.S. legislation that expanded opportunities for women in sports and athletics. Founder Missy Park, a former athlete, started the brand after noticing that many athletic clothing companies designed apparel primarily for men rather than for women’s performance and fit needs.
Today, Title Nine focuses on activewear and outdoor clothing for women who run, hike, swim, practice yoga, and participate in other fitness activities. The company emphasizes function, comfort, and practicality in its products, which its in-house team of women designs and tests.
Alongside its own products, Title Nine also supports women entrepreneurs and women-founded brands through partnerships and product offerings. The company highlights its identity as a women-owned and women-led business and frequently centers its messaging on confidence, leadership, and encouraging women to stay active and involved in sports and outdoor recreation.
Consumers often recognize Title Nine as a specialty activewear retailer with a mission-driven approach that combines athletic apparel with support for women in sports and business.
The Clothing
I was offered my choice of a large number of items to review. I was impressed with the variety that Title Nine offers and found it challenging to choose. Title Nine sizing is offered up to XL in some items. I did find that there were fewer items offered in the larger size than in the smaller sizes, which narrowed my selection somewhat. Here are the choices I made with my review of individual items below.
Scout Cargo Pants

The Scout Cargo Pants from Title Nine combine durability and comfort for travel, outdoor adventures, and everyday wear. Made from lightweight ripstop fabric with added stretch, these high-rise cargo pants feature a relaxed straight-leg fit, multiple utility pockets, and an adjustable drawcord waist designed for long days on the road or trail.

My Review
I love these pants. I was worried that these would be too tight on me, but they fit perfectly. They are incredibly comfortable, and I have been choosing them for my work-from-home days. I try to get outside and move during my breaks, and these transitions perfectly. I did find that this pair felt a little bit baggy on me. I had my daughter try them on and realized they were just a little too long for me. They fit her perfectly and looked great.
Upland Long Sleeve Sun Shirt

The Upland Long Sleeve Sun Shirt from Title Nine is designed for lightweight comfort and sun protection during outdoor activities. Made from breathable stretch fabric with UPF 50 protection, the shirt features thumbholes, a slightly longer back hem for added coverage, and a chest pocket for small essentials, making it a practical option for hiking, travel, and everyday wear.

My Review
I fell in love with this shirt instantly. I prefer to wear long sleeves whenever possible. This shirt is lightweight and breathable, making it a comfortable shirt to wear even on hot days. It held up great in the wash and air-dried incredibly quickly. My daughter wore this shirt on a short hike with me and agreed that it was incredibly comfortable. She has a hard time finding long-sleeve shirts that fit her long arms, but found this shirt fit her perfectly.
Headlands Ribbed Tank Top

The Headlands Ribbed Tank Top from Title Nine is a lightweight, quick-drying tank designed for travel, workouts, and warm-weather activities. Made from soft ribbed fabric with built-in UPF 50 protection, it features a high neckline and a slim, close-to-body fit that works well for layering or active wear on the go.
My Review
This is another item I was hoping would fit; it does, but it is a little tight in the chest. I wore it for a day and found that it was comfortable, quick drying, and didn’t roll up at all. I passed this shirt on to my daughter, who found it fit her much better. Her feedback was that the color is bright and fantastic, and the shirt stayed where it was supposed to and was comfortable. The higher neck provided great coverage.
Headlands Square Neck Bra Top
The Headlands Square Neck Bra Top from Title Nine combines lightweight support with a streamlined, athletic design for hiking, travel, and everyday activity. Made from moisture-wicking ribbed fabric, this fitted sleeveless top features a square neckline, hip-length cut, and a built-in bra that provides comfortable support without extra layers.
My Review
As a woman with a larger chest, I didn’t have a lot of hope in this shirt, and I did find that it didn’t provide the support I was looking for. It would work great for hanging around home; it was very comfortable, but not at all flattering. I passed this on to my daughter, and it has become her go-to tank. She took it on a trip and wore it every day. She said it was supportive enough that she could be active, and it was great that it dried quickly after sweating. It also held up to washing and dried fast enough for her to wash it during her trip.
My Overall Review Of Title Nine Clothing
Overall, I was impressed with the selection, functionality, quality, and style of all of the clothing. I tried a few tops and a pair of pants; they offer swimsuits, dresses, and more. I washed all items multiple times and found that they held up exceptionally well. I also loved that they all air-dried quickly, making them perfect for travel. The clothing is comfortable, and it moves with me and looks great.
Every item is a piece of clothing that empowers movement. The clothes fit and stay where they should as you go about your day, whether that is working at a desk, taking a quick lunch hike, playing in the garden, or going out for lunch. A highlight is that these are quality pieces of clothing, not fast fashion; these clothes will last. I will certainly be looking to Title Nine to add more quality items to my wardrobe.
