The Wild Wipe – A Useful Alternative and Emergency Backup to Toilet Paper

The Wild Wipe

I usually turn down opportunities to review bathroom-related products. Early on, I decided that was one category I just wasn’t interested in writing about. So when the offer to try the Wild Wipe landed in my inbox, my first reaction was a pretty quick “probably not.”

But the more I thought about it, the more intrigued I became. As someone who spends a lot of time hiking and camping, I hate seeing toilet paper scattered along trails and in campsites. At the same time, I completely understand why people use it because nobody likes feeling damp and uncomfortable. I’ve heard suggestions ranging from “just shake” to investing in specialty underwear, but neither option ever sounded particularly appealing to me. The Wild Wipe seemed like a simple solution to a common problem, and if it could help reduce the amount of toilet paper left behind outdoors, I figured it was worth trying it out.

The Wild Wipe

The Wild Wipe is a compact, reusable personal hygiene tool designed to help women stay comfortable when toilet paper, wipes, or other cleaning options aren’t readily available. Roughly the size of a small pocket accessory, it functions like a miniature squeegee, helping remove excess moisture after using the restroom. It is lightweight enough to carry while hiking, traveling, attending festivals, or running everyday errands, and it comes with an antimicrobial storage case for convenient transport between uses.

Unlike disposable products, the Wild Wipe is intended to be rinsed and reused, making it an option for those looking to reduce waste while maintaining personal comfort on the go. Its curved design is shaped to fit the body’s natural contours, and the simple process of use, shake, store, and rinse later, makes it easy to incorporate into outdoor adventures and busy days away from home. The product was created by a woman to address a common but often overlooked challenge, offering a practical alternative when traditional wiping methods aren’t available or convenient.

Trying It Out

The Wild Wipe arrived sealed in a pouch, so I knew it was brand new. It shipped from overseas but arrived in less than two weeks from the time it was ordered. The pouch includes simple visual instructions, making it easy to understand how to use it right away. Before heading out on a hike, I slipped it into my pocket and barely noticed it was there. It’s slim enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, small purse, or daypack, making it just as discreet as carrying a bit of toilet paper.

When it came time to use it, I found it easy to access and use without drawing attention to myself. What surprised me most was how well it worked. In fact, I found it more effective than the small piece of toilet paper I usually carry in my pocket for trail use. When I was done, it slipped right back into its case and was easy to carry until I could rinse it later.

My Recommendation

The Wild Wipe could be a useful addition to your travel or camping gear. Even if you’re not quite ready to make it part of your regular outdoor routine, it may be worth carrying as a backup option for those times when comfort and convenience matter. While you’ll still need toilet paper for purposes beyond urine, a product like this could help reduce the amount of toilet paper being used and left behind on trails and in campsites.

My biggest hesitation is that it’s another plastic product in a world that already has plenty of them. That said, it arrives in paper packaging, which helps reduce waste, and it’s designed to be reusable, recyclable, and long-lasting. For me, those factors help offset some of the environmental concerns. Overall, I think the Wild Wipe is an innovative solution to a common outdoor problem, and it’s a product I’d recommend giving a try.  You can check it out for yourself at https://wildwipe.com

I honestly didn’t know something like this even existed. The part where you said it worked better than the little bit of toilet paper you usually carry really sold the idea for me. It actually sounds like a smart thing to keep tucked in a bag for hikes or festivals.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of the Wild Wipe, but it could be useful to other activities outdoors too. I plan to look into it some more.

Just when you think you have seen it all. Guess this would come in handy in an emergency, but honestly, I would probably throw it away afterward, as if you are camping or at an event, how would you really clean it?

This was an interesting and practical review of a product I’d never come across before. I appreciated your honest perspective and how you balanced the convenience, potential drawbacks, and also quite importantly the environmental benefits of the product. It sounds like Wild Wipe could be a useful addition to have although I’d prefer paper personally x

This sounds like an amazing product, not just for camping, but for generally being on the go. I can see it being a life saver here in Italy, where it’s oten the case that public washrooms don’t have toilet paper readily available in them.

I smiled when I read, “turn down opportunities to review bathroom-related products.” And I’ll admit that as I read, I squirmed a little. That being said, on more than one occasion while out hiking I’ve had to poke around the bushes, and shake a little before moving on. ha ha! So I see the usefulness of this tool.

The plastic material would possibly put me off as I’m trying to purchase less plastics products. But saying that, I can really see the benefit of this product (especially at festivals)

This sounds like a great product to have in an emergency. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been in a Portaloo that is not only filthy but has run out of toilet paper. This would have been so handy

This sounds like it would be pretty great for festivals as I used to always find loos would run out of toilet paper. But I’m still not convinced it would feel the same as properly wiping, I’d need to try it x
